Get Hubbied is a project conceived by Betting Hubby slated for 2010 that will manifest itself as an actual wedding for a singular couple who will entrust HubbyCo with the details. Marriage, a confounding but lastingly resonant institution, remains the only widely accepted form of officially honoring a relationship between two loving individuals. The October 2009 issue of ARTFORUM features an advertisement introducing HubbyCo's one-time service as wedding planner-curator of a wedding slated for 2010, to a couple (of any gender, race or religious affiliation and of legal marrying age) that accepts this rare and eccentric opportunity.
The ceremony will offer the entire scope of components that have become hallmarks of modern-day nuptials, from invitations to rice toss to videography. A collaboration among select artists, filmmakers, musicians and writers, each was ascribed an aspect of a conventional ceremony that they will re-work conceptually with the couple in mind. Each artist was thoughtfully selected according to their individual talents and specialties that related to each category of the ceremony.
